Jose Aldo, a former UFC featherweight champion, recently commented on his loss to Aiman Zahabi at UFC 315, held in Montreal, Canada.

Aldo expressed his gratitude towards the UFC organization and its leadership, including Dana White, Sean Shelby, and Lorenzo Fertitta, acknowledging their contributions to his career. However, he revealed the significant challenges he faced leading up to this specific fight, stating it was “especially difficult” and went beyond the physical toll of the weight cut. Despite aiming for another title run, he admitted feeling a lack of motivation throughout the week before the bout, sensing that he no longer had “that fire in [his] heart.”

Reflecting on his state of mind, Aldo was candid about his future. “I no longer want to do this,” he stated. “I no longer want to go out and fight, to engage in wars. I no longer have the former spark. So, I think, this was my last fight.”

It should be noted that Aiman Zahabi defeated Jose Aldo by a unanimous decision from the judges.
