Former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling has offered his reaction to the UFC`s decision to organize a rematch between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O`Malley.
Sterling commented on social media, stating: “Honestly, the UFC will always prioritize what`s best for the business and their brand. Considering the circumstances around our first fight, would I have wanted an immediate rematch? Absolutely. However, I understand the business side of things very well. O`Malley is a good fighter who has defeated several top 5 contenders. So, in my opinion, he rightfully deserves this opportunity after the high-level opponents he has overcome. If Merab defeats him a second time, then we are likely heading towards a trilogy.”
