Anthony Beauvillier is set to remain with the Washington Capitals.
The team announced Thursday that the unrestricted free agent forward has agreed to a two-year contract extension valued at $5.5 million to stay with the club. This deal carries an annual average value, or cap hit, of $2.75 million.
Beauvillier concluded the most recent season as part of the Capitals roster, having been acquired by Washington in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins back in March.
During the 2023-24 season, the 28-year-old winger also saw playing time with the Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, and Nashville Predators before joining the Penguins and later the Capitals.
Across his combined time with the Penguins and Capitals last season, Beauvillier registered 15 goals and 10 assists in 81 games.
Over his National Hockey League career, spanning 631 games with the New York Islanders, Canucks, Blackhawks, Predators, Penguins, and Capitals, Beauvillier has accumulated 131 goals and 140 assists for a total of 271 points.
A native of Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, Beauvillier was originally selected 28th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
