Blues Extend Win Streak to 11 Games with Overtime Victory Against Penguins

ST. LOUIS — On Thursday night, Robert Thomas achieved a power-play goal during overtime, propelling the St. Louis Blues to a 5-4 triumph over the Pittsburgh Penguins. This victory marks the Blues` 11th consecutive win, matching a franchise record.

Jake Neighbours contributed significantly with two goals, while Pavel Buchnevich and Jordan Kyrou each added a goal for the Blues. Goaltender Joel Hofer played a crucial role, blocking 24 shots as St. Louis achieved its 10th consecutive home victory, setting a new franchise record.

For the Penguins, Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, and Rutger McGroarty each scored a goal and provided an assist, and Connor Dewar also found the back of the net. Goalie Tristan Jarry managed 14 saves, but Pittsburgh suffered its fourth consecutive loss on the road.

Neighbours` second goal was facilitated by Jimmy Snuggerud, who earned his first NHL point in his second career game. Snuggerud, a first-round draft pick for the Blues in 2022, recently signed an entry-level contract last Friday.

McGroarty managed to tie the score for the Penguins with just 23.8 seconds remaining in regulation, marking his first NHL goal.

Rust has been in strong form, scoring five goals in his last seven appearances.
