The Ottawa Senators will face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday without their captain, Brady Tkachuk.

Coach Travis Green announced that Tkachuk is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, which caused him to miss morning practice and the previous game against the Buffalo Sabres.

The exact moment of the injury is unknown.

Tkachuk, the team`s leading scorer with 29 goals and 26 assists in 71 games, had previously missed games due to a lower-body injury.

In positive news for the Senators, Nick Cousins has returned to practice in a non-contact jersey after recovering from a knee injury sustained in January.
