Brock Boeser Signs Seven-Year Deal with Vancouver Canucks

VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks have successfully retained one of their key offensive players, signing right-winger Brock Boeser to a seven-year contract valued at US$50.75 million.

The team announced the new agreement approximately thirty minutes after the National Hockey League`s free agency period commenced on Tuesday. The 28-year-old forward, originally from Burnsville, Minnesota, had just become an unrestricted free agent.

In the most recent season, Boeser recorded 25 goals and 25 assists for Vancouver. This output was lower than his previous career-highs from the 2023-24 season, where he tallied 40 goals and 73 points.

Earlier in March, there was considerable discussion that the 28-year-old winger might be traded before the NHL trade deadline. However, Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin indicated that the offers received were not appealing enough to make a move.

Selected 23rd overall by the Canucks in the 2015 draft, Boeser has played his entire NHL career, totaling 554 games, with Vancouver. Throughout the regular season, he has accumulated 204 goals and 230 assists. He also added 11 goals and 12 assists in 29 playoff appearances.

The six-foot-one, 208-pound player from Burnsville, Minnesota, became a fan favorite, not just for his scoring talent but also for the way he publicly navigated personal challenges, such as the loss of his father, Duke, in May 2022.

Boeser has always emphasized how much the backing from Vancouver hockey fans meant to him.

Speaking at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, he shared, “I can`t speak highly enough about the fan base and this city. Everyone is incredibly kind to me when I`m out and about. Everyone has consistently supported me and had my back, and that is something I truly value.”
