
The Calgary Flames have secured a contract with перспективный scoring forward Aydar Suniev.
Calgary announced on Wednesday the signing of the left-handed winger to a three-year entry-level contract. The deal carries an average annual value of $923,333.
According to reports, Suniev will join the Flames immediately, and this season will count as the first year of his contract.
Suniev, aged 20, was selected by the Flames in the third round of the 2023 NHL Draft. He has played for the University of Massachusetts for the past two seasons. In the 2024-25 season, he achieved 20 goals and 38 points in 35 games.
UMass was eliminated from the NCAA Hockey Championship tournament after a 2-1 defeat to Western Michigan University on Saturday.
Before his college career, Suniev, who is Russian-born, played for two seasons with the Penticton Vees in the British Columbia Hockey League.
