Canucks’ Derek Forbort Out for Remainder of Season with Orbital Fracture

The Vancouver Canucks received unwelcome news following Saturday`s game against the Minnesota Wild.

Defenceman Derek Forbort, who left the game early after a late punch in a fight with Minnesota Wild`s center Yakor Trenin, has suffered a broken orbital bone. Head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed on Sunday that Forbort will be out for the rest of the season.

The fight concluded with both players falling to the ice, at which point Trenin punched Forbort while his head was on the ice.

Following the altercation, Forbort was seen holding his face and subsequently left the game to head to the Canucks` locker room.
