VANCOUVER – Jake DeBrusk`s clutch goal in the final seconds of overtime propelled the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Monday. The Canucks rallied to overcome the Sharks in a tightly contested match.
Brock Boeser`s shot veered wide of the San Jose net, only to have the puck rebound favorably to DeBrusk. With remarkable speed and precision, DeBrusk capitalized on the opportunity, scoring his 28th goal of the season with mere moments remaining on the clock.
Linus Karlsson initiated the Canucks` comeback in the third period, netting his third goal of the season. Goaltender Nikita Tolopilo delivered a stellar performance in his NHL debut, blocking 15 of 16 shots fired his way and securing his first NHL win.
For the Sharks, rookie Macklin Celebrini marked his 25th goal of the season with a power-play goal in the second period. Goalie Alexandar Georgiev was busy in net, making an impressive 35 saves.
