Elias Pettersson will not return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup for the remaining three games of the season due to injury.

Coach Rick Tocchet announced that Pettersson will be sidelined for the rest of the season ahead of Saturday`s game against the Minnesota Wild.

Tocchet explained, “It`s best to shut him down, although he is improving.”

Pettersson, 26, has been injured since March 22. This season, he scored 45 points in 64 games.

Filip Chytil, recovering from a concussion since March 15, is also ruled out for the season, according to Tocchet.

Goaltender Thatcher Demko is sick and unavailable for Saturday`s game. Max Sasson is also out, but forward Ty Mueller will debut in the NHL.
