The Washington Capitals have made a significant roster move, recalling promising forward Ilya Protas from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears. Protas, who is 19 years old, has been a standout performer in the AHL this season. He currently leads all league rookies in scoring and ranks an impressive sixth overall, having amassed a total of 62 points (28 goals and 34 assists) across 66 games played for Hershey. His exceptional play has clearly caught the attention of the Capitals’ front office.
