Chael Sonnen Says McGregor Has No Genuine ‘Unfinished Business’ With Chandler

Former UFC fighter, commentator, and analyst Chael Sonnen has asserted that the potential fight and associated narrative between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler is outdated and no longer a relevant storyline.

Sonnen directly addressed McGregor`s recent statement about having “unfinished business” with Chandler upon his anticipated return, emphatically disagreeing with the sentiment.

According to Sonnen, their primary interaction consisted of coaching a season of The Ultimate Fighter, which he characterized as having significant viewership issues, to the extent that supplementary figures like himself and Daniel Cormier were needed to boost interest. He further reminded McGregor that he had a contract signed for a bout against Chandler but ultimately did not go through with the fight, despite later expressing a desire for a major stadium event against that specific opponent.

Sonnen also added a personal detail, mentioning his friendship with Michael Chandler.

He concluded by reinforcing his belief that McGregor has no legitimate reason or `business` that necessitates a fight against Chandler at this point.
