World No. 4 Coco Gauff is set to showcase her style both on and off the court this spring and summer, thanks to a collaboration between her clothing sponsor New Balance and designer label Miu Miu.
On Wednesday, the 2023 US Open champion unveiled a new capsule collection resulting from this partnership. Miu Miu, a high-fashion Italian brand founded in 1993 by Miuccia Prada, has an ongoing collaboration with New Balance. Gauff has previously worn Miu Miu off the court, including custom gowns for the Oscars last month and a notable glittering gold gown for her April 2024 Vogue cover shoot. This new collection, however, focuses specifically on sport and street style and will be worn by Gauff at certain Hologic WTA Tour events.
She plans to debut three unique high-fashion outfits across three tournaments: the upcoming Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, followed by events in Berlin in June and Cincinnati in August. Each match kit will feature colors inspired by the location or tournament itself.
In Rome, on the clay courts, her look will be “classically elegant” navy and white with red details. For the grass courts in Berlin, she will switch to green and white with touches of sky blue. Returning to the US for the Cincinnati tournament, which she won two years prior, she will wear royal blue combined with red accents.
Each ensemble will be completed with matching silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. On her feet, Gauff will wear custom, co-branded versions of her signature shoe, the Coco CG2, which have been redesigned by New Balance and Miu Miu.
Gauff, who has partnered with New Balance since 2018, commented on the design process, saying, “I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point.” She added about the collaboration`s goal: “We were like, `What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?`”
The full New Balance x Miu Miu featuring Coco Gauff collection will be available for a limited time purchase shortly after the US Open concludes, launching publicly on September 10.
