The Edmonton Oilers are expected to have their lineup at full strength as they prepare for their upcoming appearance in the Stanley Cup Final.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch informed reporters on Sunday that forward Connor Brown is anticipated to be “fine” and available to participate in Game 1 of the Final. Brown had missed the final two contests of the Western Conference Final due to an injury that was not publicly disclosed.
The 31-year-old player took part in the team`s practice session on Sunday, skating with the extra group of players while wearing a non-contact grey jersey.
Knoblauch expressed confidence, stating, “I`m pretty sure and confident that he`ll be fine for Game 1.”
Brown sustained the injury during Game 3 against the Stars after receiving a hit from Dallas defenseman Alexander Petrovic.
Prior to this specific injury, the winger had already been managing physical ailments. He was previously listed as a game-time decision before Game 1 and did not participate in the morning skate leading up to Game 2.
During the regular season, Brown accumulated 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) across 82 games. He has added eight points (five goals, three assists) for Edmonton throughout their playoff run.
Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is scheduled to begin on June 4. Coverage is set to commence at 8 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. MT.
