Connor Brown’s Availability for Stanley Cup Final Opener Unclear

Connor Brown`s status for the first game of the Stanley Cup Final, scheduled for Wednesday, remains uncertain.

Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch informed reporters on Tuesday that the decision regarding the winger`s participation in Game 1 would be made closer to game time.

However, both Knoblauch and Brown had previously stated that the veteran forward was expected to be healthy and ready to play.

The 31-year-old left Game 3 of the Western Conference Final series against the Stars after sustaining an injury from a hit delivered by Dallas defenseman Alexander Petrovic.

Brown had already been managing physical issues before this recent injury, having been listed as a game-time decision prior to Game 1 of the Western Conference Final and missing the morning skate before Game 2.

During the regular season, Brown recorded 30 points, scoring 13 goals and adding 17 assists, over 82 games. He has contributed eight points in the playoffs so far, with five goals and three assists.
