Corey Perry Scores Latest Game-Tying Goal in Stanley Cup Final History

As if the drama from Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final wasn`t enough, the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers have decided to give fans a series for the ages.

Corey Perry provided some stunning late heroics on Friday night`s showcase. The veteran forward found the back of the net to tie the high-scoring game at 4-4 and send it to overtime with only seventeen seconds remaining in regulation.

The goal came with the Oilers` net empty. Perry skated towards the middle of the Panthers` zone, where a loose puck landed after a rebound. He made the most of the opportunity, threading the puck through traffic to beat Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky blocker side.

This clutch goal actually set a new record. The 40-year-old former Cup winner scored the latest game-tying goal ever recorded in Stanley Cup Final history, breaking the previous mark set by Tod Sloan of the Toronto Maple Leafs way back in 1951.
