PITTSBURGH — Sidney Crosby scored a power-play goal at 1:16 of overtime, securing a 1-0 victory for the Pittsburgh Penguins over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
Crosby is currently on a 10-game point streak, amassing eight goals and 15 points. This also marks his 13th consecutive home game with at least one point. The overtime power play was awarded to Pittsburgh after Ridly Greig of Ottawa was penalized for hooking with only three seconds left in the third period.
Tristan Jarry showcased an outstanding performance in goal for Pittsburgh, stopping all 31 shots he faced and earning his 20th career shutout, his first of the season. This was a significant turnaround for Jarry, who had previously conceded 11 goals in his last three games and had spent time with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the American Hockey League earlier in the season.
Anton Forsberg was equally impressive in net for Ottawa, making 34 saves, but ultimately faced defeat as Crosby`s overtime goal decided the game.
