The New Jersey Devils have secured the return of depth forward Nathan Légaré, signing him to a one-year, two-way contract. The team announced the agreement on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
The 24-year-old`s contract carries an NHL salary of $775,000 and an AHL salary of $125,000, with $140,000 guaranteed.
Légaré appeared in three NHL games for the Devils during the past season, which were the first of his career, but did not record any points. He primarily played for the Devils` AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets, where he registered 25 points (17 goals, eight assists) in 69 games.
Légaré was acquired by New Jersey from the Montreal Canadiens in March 2024. A native of Montreal, he was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
