The injury-plagued New Jersey Devils are set to receive a boost ahead of Game 3 on Friday.

Defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler is slated to rejoin the roster for the matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Siegenthaler has been sidelined since February 4th due to a leg injury sustained in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Although the bone has healed, the Swiss defenseman might have restricted ice time as he works back to full fitness, according to Head Coach Sheldon Keefe.

The 27-year-old Siegenthaler recorded two goals and seven assists across 55 regular-season appearances, averaging 19 minutes and 36 seconds of ice time per game.

Meanwhile, his fellow defensemen Luke Hughes and Brenden Dillon will not be available, having sustained unspecified injuries during Game 1.

The Devils currently trail the Hurricanes by a 2-0 margin in their opening-round series.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday, with faceoff at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. Live coverage will be provided by Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
