
The Anaheim Ducks have secured goaltender Ville Husso for an additional two seasons, signing him to a new two-year contract. The team officially announced the agreement on Sunday.
Husso, who is 30 years old, joined the Ducks roster in February after being acquired in a trade from the Detroit Red Wings for future considerations. During his brief stint with Anaheim this past season, he appeared in four games, recording a 1-1-1 record with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.
Overall for the season, in 13 combined appearances split between the Red Wings and the Ducks, his record was 2-6-3.
A native of Helsinki, Finland, Husso`s NHL career encompasses 145 games with the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Anaheim Ducks. Across these games, he holds a career record of 71-46-19, along with seven shutouts, a 3.05 goals-against average, and a .901 save percentage.
Husso was originally selected by St. Louis in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He also played a key role for the Finnish team that won the gold medal at the World Junior Championship in 2014.
