Dustin Poirier Reaffirms Retirement Intentions

Former UFC interim champion Dustin Poirier has confirmed his intention to retire after his next fight.

“Right now, I`m full of confidence and completely committed to my decision. I have one fight left. I have no doubt that I can compete at the highest level for a few more years. But what am I fighting for? For money? I don`t want to disrespect the sport. I`ve always fought for the idea of becoming a champion, so if it`s not about a title fight, I`ll have to quit.

I want to leave the sport in good shape to be able to work as an expert and be healthy for my daughter and future children. I`ve simply realized that my time has come,” Poirier said.
