EA Sports has unveiled the official driver ratings for the F1 25 game. While many ratings are expected to fuel lively discussions among fans, few will dispute the top position held by four-time world champion Max Verstappen, who begins the game with an impressive 95 Overall Rating (OVR).
Each driver`s OVR is calculated based on four underlying statistics: Experience (EXP), Racecraft (RAC), Awareness (AWA), and Pace (PAC). As an example, the Red Bull star Max Verstappen boasts ratings of 87 EXP, 96 RAC, 85 AWA, and 96 PAC. The inclusion of Experience as a distinct factor is significant, as it helps explain the potentially lower initial ratings for promising young talents entering the sport.
Emerging drivers such as Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Oliver Bearman, Isack Hadjar, and Gabriel Bortoleto have shown great promise in their debut seasons. However, their lower Experience scores contribute to relatively modest OVRs. Similarly, Oscar Piastri, despite currently leading the real-world championship, is rated lower at 87 OVR due to this mechanic, placing him below veterans like Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.
Below is the full list of initial driver ratings for F1 25:

Details regarding how EA Sports will handle driver changes during the season, such as Franco Colapinto replacing Jack Doohan at Alpine, are not yet available. It also remains to be seen whether Liam Lawson will start in the Red Bull car or if Yuki Tsunoda will be the initial driver.
EA Sports has confirmed that driver ratings will be updated dynamically throughout the actual F1 season, suggesting that some initial figures may be adjusted as the season progresses and performance dictates.
