
The Calgary Flames are reportedly nearing an agreement to retain one of the players acquired via trade last season.
According to Sportsnet`s Elliotte Friedman, center Morgan Frost is expected to sign a two-year contract extension with the Flames. The reported deal is valued at $8.75 million overall, carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $4.375 million.
Frost joined the Flames during the last season through a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The 26-year-old forward concluded the season having accumulated 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists). Twelve of these points (three goals, nine assists) were recorded while playing for Calgary after the trade.
Originally drafted 27th overall in 2017 by Philadelphia, the Aurora, Ontario native has played 310 NHL games over six seasons, tallying 53 goals and 94 assists for a total of 147 points.
