German referees have received a series of significant appointments for upcoming international football matches, encompassing World Cup play-offs, Nations League fixtures, and friendly games.
Felix Zwayer will lead the officiating crew for the World Cup Play-off semi-final between Denmark and North Macedonia on Thursday. This marks his second such appointment following his involvement in the EURO 2024 Play-offs. In Copenhagen, he will be assisted by Robert Kempter and Dominik Schaal. Bastian Dankert and Sascha Stegemann are designated as Video Assistant Referees (VARs), while Daniel Siebert will serve as the Fourth Official.
Within the same competition, Tobias Stieler will act as the Fourth Official, supporting Romanian referee Istvan Kovacs in the Wales vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina match. For the final clash between Sweden and Poland, Christian Dingert and Robert Schröder will assist Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic as VARs.
Daniel Siebert will be the head referee for the Nations League Play-off second leg between Luxembourg and Malta, taking place on Tuesday at Stade de Luxembourg. He will be assisted by Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn, with Daniel Schlager as the Fourth Official. Sören Storks and Johann Pfeifer are assigned as VARs.
On Friday, Sven Jablonski will officiate a high-profile friendly match when England hosts Uruguay in London. He will be accompanied by assistant referees Eduard Beitinger and Christian Gittelmann, Fourth Official Benjamin Brand, and VARs Sören Storks and Katrin Rafalski.
Furthermore, two other German referee teams are scheduled for friendly matches on Tuesday:
- In Budapest, Florian Badstübner will referee the match between Hungary and Greece. His assistants will be Lasse Koslowski and Sven Waschitzki, with Florian Exner as the Fourth Official. Patrick Hanslbauer and Markus Sinn are appointed as VARs.
- Sascha Stegemann will oversee the encounter between the Netherlands and Ecuador in Eindhoven. His assistants will be Christof Günsch and Christian Gittelmann. Nicolas Winter and Frederick Assmuth are assigned as VARs, while Martin Petersen will assume the duties of the Fourth Official.
Regarding youth tournaments, Matthias Jöllenbeck will be the main referee for the U21 EURO Qualifiers match between Luxembourg and France on Thursday in Differdange. He will be assisted by Christof Günsch and Jonas Weickenmeier, with Tobias Reichel as the Fourth Official.
In the U19 EURO Qualifiers, Tobias Fritsch (as an assistant) and Max Burda (as Fourth Official) will be involved in three matches featuring Austria, Sweden, and Greece.
Additionally, the following referees have been appointed for matches involving the German national team:
- For Switzerland vs. Germany: Chris Kavanagh (England, Elite category).
