
The Tampa Bay Lightning will be without forward Jake Guentzel for their upcoming game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It was announced by the team shortly before the game on Wednesday that Guentzel would be absent from the match against their Atlantic Division rivals, the Maple Leafs, due to a family matter.
Guentzel, who is 30 years old, has recorded an impressive 38 goals and 77 points over 76 games this season. He joined the Lightning as a high-profile free agent signing a seven-year, $63 million contract on July 1st.
Prior to joining Tampa Bay, Guentzel played his first eight NHL seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins after being drafted by them in the third round of the 2013 NHL draft.
