The Dallas Stars are facing a major setback as they head into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Key winger Jason Robertson will be out for at least a week. He suffered a lower-body injury in the last game of the regular season on Wednesday, according to Stars staff writer Mike Heika.
Robertson was hurt in a collision with Nashville Predators player Michael McCarron. He was seen leaving the game in pain and, according to a Predators reporter, left the arena with a brace on his right knee.
Stars coach Peter DeBoer expressed his disappointment, noting that resting players was intended to prevent injuries. He stated that Robertson`s injury was unfortunate.
This season, Robertson played in all 82 games, scoring 35 goals and making 45 assists for a total of 80 points.
When asked about Robertson`s potential return for the series against the Avalanche, DeBoer suggested that if the series lasts longer than a week, there might be a chance for him to play.
The Stars will begin their playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche in Dallas on Saturday night.
