After 1,078 games in the NHL, veteran forward Jeff Skinner is finally set to experience the excitement of playoff hockey.
This long-awaited moment will arrive on Monday when Skinner and his Edmonton Oilers teammates face off against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series.
Skinner`s desire to participate in a deep playoff run was a key factor in his decision to sign with Edmonton as a free agent last summer.
“Coming to Edmonton, I knew we had a strong team and I wanted to be part of something special,” Skinner said on Sunday.
“It`s a great feeling. You work hard throughout the year for this opportunity. We`ve all worked together to get here, and now we`re ready to compete.”
