The Winnipeg Jets are hopeful about the recovery of several players from their injured list.
Coach Scott Arniel informed the media that Nikolaj Ehlers` participation in Monday`s game against the St. Louis Blues will be decided just before game time. Arniel also mentioned that Neal Pionk is nearing his return to the team, Gabriel Vilardi is expected to practice on the ice soon, and Rasmus Kupari has been skating individually prior to the team`s morning practice.
In addition, defenseman Colin Miller was absent from Monday`s morning practice due to illness and his availability for the game against the Blues will also be determined at game time.
Ehlers was sidelined for Saturday`s game against the Utah Hockey Club after taking a puck to the foot in Thursday`s 4-0 victory over the Golden Knights. Ehlers has been a key player for Winnipeg this season, scoring 24 goals and providing 39 assists in 67 games. His absence was felt in Saturday`s 4-1 loss for the Jets.
Pionk has been out for several weeks with a lower-body injury. He has accumulated 37 points in 66 games this season.
Vilardi was reported as week-to-week on March 24 due to an upper-body injury. Before his injury, he was having a career-best season with 27 goals and 34 assists.
Kupari has been experiencing concussion symptoms since the beginning of March, causing him to miss both Thursday`s and Saturday`s games.
