Jets’ Josh Morrissey Expected to Return for Game 2 Against Stars

The Winnipeg Jets are likely to have a key defenseman back in their lineup for the crucial second game against the Dallas Stars.

When asked about Morrissey`s potential return for Friday night, Head Coach Scott Arniel stated, “probably.”

Morrissey was absent from Game 1 of the series due to an upper body injury.

He sustained the injury in the first period of Game 7 in the previous round against the St. Louis Blues, following a hit into the boards by Oskar Sundqvist.

In the first six games of the Jets` first-round series, the 30-year-old recorded three assists and averaged 23:30 of ice time. During the regular season, he appeared in 80 games, contributing 14 goals and 48 assists.

Dallas took a 1-0 series lead by winning Game 1 on Wednesday with a 3-2 score, a victory that featured Mikko Rantanen scoring his second consecutive hat trick.

Game 2 is scheduled for Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT.
