The Winnipeg Jets are set to welcome back their key defenseman for the crucial Game 2 of the series against the Dallas Stars on Friday.

Josh Morrissey participated in the pre-game warmups and his return to the lineup was confirmed by the team shortly after.

Earlier in the day, Head Coach Scott Arniel had suggested Morrissey`s return was `probable` when speaking to reporters.

Morrissey was sidelined for Game 1 of the series due to an upper-body injury. The injury occurred in the first period of Game 7 in the previous round against the St. Louis Blues, following a hit into the boards delivered by Oskar Sundqvist.

The 30-year-old blue-liner was a significant contributor in the first-round series, recording three assists in the first six games and averaging 23:30 of ice time. In the 80 regular-season games he played, Morrissey tallied 14 goals and added 48 assists.

Dallas secured a 3-2 victory in the opening game on Wednesday, largely powered by forward Mikko Rantanen, who achieved his second consecutive hat trick.
