Mixed martial arts titleholder Demetrious Johnson shared his perspective, suggesting that UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall should not delay fighting full belt holder Jon Jones.
Johnson stated, “If I were in Aspinall`s position, I wouldn`t want to wait for six months. It seems the UFC should offer him another fight. Although, facing Jon Jones would be the most significant fight of his career if he were to win…”.
He further commented, “Considering Jon Jones desires a six-month wait, my advice would be to not wait. Aspinall should fight someone else and defend his interim heavyweight title. Currently, everyone operates according to Jon Jones` timeline. He`s dictating the current situation. Aspinall shouldn`t put his career on hold for Jones,” Johnson remarked.
