The Seattle Kraken have secured defenseman Josh Mahura with a contract extension, general manager Jason Botterill announced Friday.

The agreement is a two-year, one-way contract valued at an average annual value (AAV) of $907,500, extending through the 2026-27 season.

The 27-year-old blueliner participated in 67 games during the past season, registering nine points (all assists), 89 hits, and 54 blocked shots.

Mahura`s career spans 255 regular-season games over seven seasons, having played for the Kraken, Florida Panthers, and Anaheim Ducks. The six-foot, 193-pound player has accumulated a total of 54 points (10 goals, 44 assists) during this time.

In a statement, Botterill commented, “Josh was a significant addition to our defensive corps last season. He brings an honest, physical presence and complemented our group of defensemen well. He`s also an excellent teammate. We`re pleased to have him returning for two more years.”
