Following his recent success with Ferrari at the Chinese Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton demonstrated exceptional tire management and secured victory in the Sprint Race, it has been announced that he will be the exclusive cover athlete for the EA Sports F1 25 Iconic Edition.

Surprisingly, despite his impressive seven world championship titles, this marks the first time Hamilton has been the sole focus on the game`s cover. This `Iconic` edition celebrates his momentous move to Ferrari, uniting the legendary team with one of Formula 1`s all-time greats.
Hamilton commented, `Joining Scuderia Ferrari HP is an incredibly exciting new chapter in my career, and it`s fantastic to have this moment captured on the EA Sports F1 25 Iconic Edition cover. I`m highly motivated for this next phase of my Formula One journey and thrilled that fans and players can share this experience with me through the game.`
While this is his first solo cover, Hamilton has been a frequent presence on the franchise`s covers since F1 2015, often alongside other drivers.
His move to Ferrari was a major highlight of the 2024 season, triggering significant shifts in the driver market across numerous teams. After a challenging start with Ferrari at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, things improved dramatically in China. Hamilton excelled in sprint qualifying and achieved his and Ferrari`s inaugural F1 Sprint Race win, showcasing his renowned tire management skills against competitors like Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.
At the Chinese Grand Prix, Hamilton initially finished sixth, a significant improvement from Melbourne. However, he was later disqualified due to excessive skid wear on his car, ending the weekend on a disappointing note. Ironically, this also marked another historic first for Ferrari, albeit an unwanted one, with both drivers being disqualified in the same race weekend.
Previously, the Deluxe Editions, known as Champion`s Editions, honored the previous season`s champion, often featuring EA Sports ambassador Max Verstappen. However, the tradition was set aside this year to emphasize the excitement surrounding Hamilton`s team switch, reflecting the emotion and importance of this event for the sport and its global fanbase.
Hamilton actively collaborated with photographer Campbell Addy, drawing from their past magazine shoot experience, to provide input on embodying the themes of pride, prestige, and excitement for the cover. He expressed a preference for both standing and seated poses, which ultimately influenced the final cover image.
Further details about the upcoming EA Sports F1 25 game are expected to be announced soon.
