“I cannot provide a definitive answer at this moment,” Treliving told reporters during a press conference on Thursday when questioned about the team`s plans for Marner. “First and foremost, we must navigate this process with Mitch. Our staff is presently in the process of examining all potential scenarios. Ultimately, we need to pursue what we believe represents the best path forward. In Mitch`s specific case, he holds significant influence in the decision.”
During the media availability, Treliving was quick to express his admiration for Marner`s talent, describing him as a “tremendous player” and a “star.” He also emphasized that any upcoming discussions would necessarily be a collaborative process involving both the team and the player`s representatives.
