Maple Leafs’ Jake McCabe and David Kampf Injured in Game Against Panthers

The Toronto Maple Leafs achieved a significant victory over the Florida Panthers, but this win may have come with negative consequences.

Defenseman Jake McCabe and David Kampf were both forced to leave the game at different times due to injuries sustained during the match.

The Maple Leafs organization announced that Kampf would not return to the game because of an upper-body injury.

Towards the end of the game, with just under two minutes remaining, McCabe was checked into the boards. He did not participate in the final 1 minute and 10 seconds of play as he was attempting to help the Maple Leafs maintain their 3-2 lead.

Head coach Craig Berube, in a post-game press conference, stated that he did not have any updates regarding the condition of either McCabe or Kampf.

It was not immediately apparent how Kampf`s injury occurred, but the forward was absent from the team for the final period.

This season, the 30-year-old player has accumulated five goals and 13 points over 58 games. He had previously missed 12 games due to a lower-body injury.

McCabe`s record for the season includes two goals and 23 points in 66 games, with an average ice time of 21 minutes and 31 seconds, which is a career high.
