Maple Leafs Pull Joseph Woll for Matt Murray in Game 5

The Toronto Maple Leafs are now on their third goaltender in the second round of the playoffs.

Matt Murray took over in net for Joseph Woll during the third period of Game 5 against the Florida Panthers, after Woll surrendered five goals on 25 shots.

Murray spent the majority of the season in the AHL but had been serving as Woll`s backup in this series following an injury to Anthony Stolarz in Game 1.

This appearance marked Murray`s first in the NHL since late December, when he played his only two games for the Leafs this season. His last playoff appearance dated back to 2020 with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

A goal by Florida Panthers forward AJ Greer in front of the net further compounded the Toronto Maple Leafs` struggles in Game 5 and led to goalie Joseph Woll being replaced by Matt Murray.
