The Toronto Maple Leafs will have to compete in two important upcoming games without defenseman Jake McCabe and forward David Kampf.
Both players participated in practice on Monday but will not be traveling with the team for the games against the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, as reported by Anna Dua of Sportsnet on Monday.
McCabe and Kampf were injured during the Maple Leafs` recent victory over the Florida Panthers and are currently listed as day-to-day.
McCabe sustained an injury after being checked into the boards in the final two minutes of the last game. He missed the last 1:10 of the game as the Leafs defended a 3-2 lead.
The nature of Kampf`s injury has not been disclosed.
This season, McCabe has scored two goals and accumulated 23 points in 66 games, playing an average of 21:31 minutes per game, which is a career high.
Kampf, aged 30, has scored five goals and 13 points in 58 games this season. He previously missed 12 games due to a lower-body injury.
The Maple Leafs are currently leading the Atlantic Division by four points over the Lightning, while the Panthers are six points behind Toronto.
