Martinook, Andersen help Hurricanes push past Devils for 2-0 series lead

RALEIGH, N.C. — Demonstrating the calm and steady presence of seasoned veterans forged in postseason battles, Jordan Martinook and Frederik Andersen were key performers.

Their veteran presence was a major factor in the Carolina Hurricanes securing a 2-0 series lead once more.

Martinook capitalized on an opportunity, breaking away to score the crucial go-ahead shorthanded goal during the second period.

Meanwhile, Andersen delivered a strong performance in goal throughout the game, playing a vital role in the Hurricanes` 3-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils in Tuesday`s Game 2 of their first-round series.

This victory maintained Carolina`s perfect 11-0 record in games where they have a chance to take a 2-0 series lead, a streak that began during their 2006 Stanley Cup run.
