Chad Mendes, a seasoned UFC fighter, has identified the most challenging adversary he faced in his professional career.
According to Mendes, many anticipate him naming Conor McGregor as his toughest opponent due to McGregor`s notoriety. However, Mendes clarified that this is not the case. He believes that if he were in peak condition during their match, he would have easily defeated McGregor.
Mendes explained that Jose Aldo presented a significantly greater challenge. He described Aldo as an exceptionally athletic and explosive fighter with remarkable jiu-jitsu and striking abilities. In contrast, Mendes characterized Conor McGregor primarily as a striker. Mendes recounted that when he took McGregor to the ground, McGregor`s defense was limited to merely holding him, lacking any offensive or strategic grappling. Mendes concluded that fighting McGregor was relatively straightforward.
