NHL Rumour Roundup: Canadiens Looking for Forward to Pair with Demidov

Following their first playoff appearance since 2021, the Montreal Canadiens demonstrated progress last season and are now aiming for further improvements.

While the Canadiens are not solely focused on one area this off-season, adding more offensive talent to their top six is a significant priority, according to Sportsnet`s Elliotte Friedman.

Friedman mentioned on a recent episode of `32 Thoughts: The Podcast` that he has heard buzz about forward upgrades. He suggested that part of this focus could involve identifying a player who could potentially play alongside and develop with prospect Ivan Demidov. Friedman specifically asked, “Is there somebody out there that they would look at and say, those are two people that could grow together a little bit?”

Demidov`s arrival in North America ahead of schedule generated considerable excitement and offered the Canadiens an early glimpse of his capabilities.
