Oilers’ Connor McDavid Reaches Playoff Milestone with First Goal in Final

Connor McDavid has officially joined an exclusive group of players in playoff history.

By scoring his first goal of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday during the third period of Game 5, the Edmonton Oilers` star centre became the third-fastest player ever to accumulate 150 career points in the NHL playoffs.

McDavid achieved this significant milestone in just 95 games. Only two legendary players reached this mark faster: Wayne Gretzky, who did it in 68 games, and Mario Lemieux, who needed 86 games.

His impressive goal provided a brief moment of hope for the Oilers, narrowing the Florida Panthers` lead to 3-1.

However, that momentum was short-lived, as Sam Reinhart responded just 46 seconds later, restoring the Panthers` three-goal advantage.

Despite the game`s outcome, McDavid continues to lead all players in this post-season scoring race, having amassed 33 points (seven goals, 26 assists) through 21 games.
