Oilers Edge Out Flames Thanks to Draisaitl’s Clutch Performance

EDMONTON — Despite a valiant effort, the Calgary Flames were defeated by the Edmonton Oilers in an overtime game on Saturday night.

However, the fate of the game seemed sealed earlier that day when Leon Draisaitl received medical clearance to return after missing four games.

As has often been the case when Draisaitl faces the Calgary Flames, he proved to be the dominant force.

This time, his performance was historic as he netted his sixth overtime goal of the season, setting a new NHL record.

After Draisaitl`s 50th goal of the season tied the score with just three minutes left in regulation, it felt inevitable to many in Rogers Place that he would secure the win, ultimately delivering his 11th game-winning goal this season.
