Oilers’ Leon Draisaitl to return within a week

Edmonton Oilers` Leon Draisaitl is recovering faster than his teammate Connor McDavid.

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters on Wednesday that Draisaitl is close to returning to the team`s lineup.

Knoblauch stated that Draisaitl`s return is expected within about a week, possibly even sooner, while McDavid`s recovery will take longer.

Draisaitl sustained an undisclosed injury on March 18 in a game against Utah. He leads the league with 49 goals and is the Oilers` top scorer with 101 points.

McDavid apparently injured his lower body during the game against the Winnipeg Jets last Thursday. He missed his last shift of the second period and did not return to the game.
