Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley commented on his recent defeat to the current titleholder, Merab Dvalishvili.
In the main event of UFC 316 held in Newark, USA, on June 8, the American fighter lost to his Georgian opponent via submission in the third round.
“Merab is very tough. Thank you to everyone who came. I am very grateful to you, without you nothing would be possible. Merab is just very tough,” O’Malley stated following the bout.
This fight marked the second encounter between O’Malley and Dvalishvili inside the octagon. In their initial meeting, which took place in September of the previous year, Dvalishvili emerged victorious by unanimous decision.
