OTTAWA – The Stanley Cup Playoffs can be unforgiving. After an eight-year absence from the playoffs, the Ottawa Senators` run might be over in less than a week.
For the second game in a row against their archrival, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Senators suffered a 3-2 overtime loss, despite a determined third-period rally. Ottawa now faces the difficult challenge of being down 3-0 in the first-round series.
“It`s certainly disheartening,” commented coach Travis Green.
The previous two games have been particularly agonizing.
“Two games in a row,” said captain Brady Tkachuk. “It comes down to one play.”
