Penguins Re-Sign Boko Imama to One-Year Deal

After his 2024-25 campaign was cut short due to injury, forward Boko Imama is set to return to the Pittsburgh Penguins organization.

The Penguins announced on Friday that they have agreed to a one-year contract extension with Imama. The deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $775,000.

Imama underwent a successful surgical procedure in late March to repair a bicep injury. At that time, Pittsburgh estimated his recovery period would be four to six months.

The 28-year-old was playing in his fourth NHL season. He appeared in 16 games, scoring one goal and accumulating 30 penalty minutes. He also played in 24 American Hockey League (AHL) games, where he registered five points.

Originally selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Imama previously spent time in the National Hockey League with the Arizona Coyotes and Ottawa Senators before joining the Penguins.
