Piacenza Sweeps Berlin to Advance

Italy’s Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza secured its place in the semifinals by defeating Germany’s Berlin Recycling Volleys with a decisive 3-0 victory in the second leg of their quarterfinal clash. Playing at PalaBancaSport, Piacenza won the sets 25-21, 29-27, 25-18. The Italian squad demonstrated resilience by clinching two tightly contested opening sets before comfortably dominating the third.

Leading the scoring for Piacenza were Lukas Bergmann and Daniel Iyegbekedo, both contributing 10 points, with Efe Mandiraci adding another 9. For Berlin, Daniel Malescha was the standout player, leading all scorers with 13 points despite his team’s loss.

Maaseik Triumphs Over Galatasaray

In another thrilling quarterfinal encounter, Belgium’s Greenyard Maaseik advanced after overcoming Turkey’s Galatasaray HDI Sigorta 3-1 at the Steengoed Arena. After dropping the initial set, the home team rallied powerfully to secure the next three sets and clinch the match.
