UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett discussed his view on why Islam Makhachev may have avoided a potential fight with Ilia Topuria.
Pimblett commented, “Personally, if I were in Islam`s position, I would have accepted the fight against Topuria, secured the win, and then looked to fight Delia Maddalena in October in Abu Dhabi. But I do understand Makhachev`s reasoning for not taking the fight with Ilia. Islam has already proven himself against featherweights twice. Although many people believe Topuria would defeat him, I don`t hold that opinion.”
