In Toronto, Senators forward Ridly Greig quickly reclaimed his status as the primary antagonist for local fans. He is remembered from last season for a brazen empty-net goal.

Greig, a third-line forward who skillfully plays on the edge of the rules, was actively noticeable for Ottawa in the first playoff game against Toronto, part of the `Battle of Ontario 5.0`.

In his playoff debut, Greig scored a goal, participated in special teams play, and was one of the few Ottawa players with a positive plus/minus in a game that the Leafs won 6-2.

However, the most significant displeasure among Leafs fans was caused by Greig`s subtle aggressive actions, although the NHL did not impose any disciplinary measures against him.

Greig cross-checked John Tavares in the head, an action initially missed by the referees during play, which resulted in a major penalty that was later reduced to a minor after video review.

Craig Berube mentioned that the league does not plan to further penalize the player.
