The Colorado Avalanche secured a victory in their playoff opener against the Dallas Stars on Saturday but faced a setback with an injury to a player.

Ross Colton saw limited ice time in the third period of the Avalanche`s 5-1 win.

The 28-year-old center took only one shift in the final period, accumulating a total of 7 minutes and 4 seconds of play time.

The specifics of when and how Colton sustained the injury are unclear, although his last shift concluded less than two minutes into the third period.

Following the game, head coach Jared Bednar informed reporters that Colton exited due to a lower-body injury and is currently undergoing evaluation. An update on his condition is anticipated on Sunday.

This regular season, Colton amassed 29 points, comprising 16 goals and 13 assists, across 63 games. He previously missed игра time due to injuries, including the Avalanche’s last four regular-season games.

With Colorado leading the first-round series 1-0, Game 2 is scheduled for Monday at 9:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. MT.
